Dennis Paget’s counselling approach is to be a compassionate person-centered and emotionally focused,  counsellor

Having completed his own therapy he understands the feeling of sitting with a stranger sharing personal information. His role is to partner with you on your journey of discovery and growth at your pace. To ensure his counselling skill set is honed and up to date he employs a mentor to review his personal growth and discuss any transference or counter transference which may appear with a client.  This is his continued commitment to himself, his work and his clients.

RELATIONSHIP THERAPY

My Approach

Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy

Developing a pattern of thoughts, feelings, and actions that serve one's values and goals is an integral part of CBT.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a method of phasing used to treat trauma and its symptoms.

Gottman Method

Used by certified Gottman Couples therapists to determine assessment techniques and intervention strategies for increased intimacy, affection, and respect.

Talk Therapy

We use various talk therapy styles to assist couples in minimizing conflict, deepening friendships, improving communication, and resolving issues that block emotional and physical intimacy.

Meditation

The technique of relaxing and enlarging one's consciousness by focusing on a mantra or a word, sound, or image while removing outside stimuli from one's awareness

Mindfulness

The act of being mindful occurs whenever you become aware of anything you are directly experiencing via your senses, or of your state of mind via your thoughts and emotions.

Grief Therapy

There are many emotions involved in grief and bereavement, ranging from sadness to anger. Each individual's process of adjusting to a significant loss is different. People often respond differently depending on their background, beliefs, and relationship with what was lost.

EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique

A method of treating physical pain and emotional distress. The technique is also called acupressure or tapping.
